The Assistant Director, Alumni Engagement seeks to increase alumni loyalty through events, programs, and e-communication with the ultimate goal of "building community and enduring alumni loyalty". This position will assist in developing alumni engagement strategies for local, regional, and national events.

Duties

  • Identify, recruit, and train University and chapter volunteer leadership and ensure recognition for volunteer efforts.
  • Develop and manage a robust series of premier University and chapter alumni programs and events.
  • Manage chapter and event budgets (expenses and revenues).
  • Work cross-organizationally with schools, athletics, career offices and Alumni Leadership Council on alumni engagement strategies.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Undergraduate degree or graduate degree. 3-4 years of work experience related to event planning, and project coordination. Demonstrated ability to manage, organize, and motivate volunteers. Written and verbal communication skills. Interpersonal/human relation skills. Ability to organize time, projects and details. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. PC with windows 7, Office 2010, Adobe Acrobat and Google apps

Preferred: Experience with the following applications: Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, Omni Update, Trumba, Peoplesoft, Google applications. Experience with alumni affairs programming. Graduate of Pepperdine University. Familiarity with alumni relations and fundraising. Ability to build effective long-term relationships both internally and externally. Goal oriented and self-motivated individual who can demonstrate accountability, initiative, energy, creativity, and focus in a constantly changing and evolving environment. Knowledge and skill in social media marketing through Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, and Google+

Salary: Commensurate with experience
