The Senior Client Technologies Analyst serves to help faculty and staff effectively apply technology to achieve University goals. This technology includes audio-visual technology, classroom technology, live event technology, video conferencing technology and other various technologies that are in use at the campus. This individual will work directly with faculty and divisions to provide technology-related project consultation, coordination and production; to manage technology resources; to provide just-in-time training and support; and to assist with technology research, planning, acquisition, and implementation within an academic context. This position also maintains database for tracking inventory of all IT owned audio visual equipment, facilities maintenance and repair of audio visual equipment, consults with IT and other university departments in selection and purchase of new and replacement audio visual equipment; researches new techniques and emerging technologies to develop cost effective solutions for new purchases and upgrades.

Duties

  • Responsible for providing support on standard client hardware, software products and audio-visual equipment; configures, operates audio visual equipment; troubleshoots problems using scripts and checklists as guides: escalates when necessary; works with basic infrastructure products; researches trouble issues with guidance from others; documents problem status and resolution tracking log; alerts team members about recurring problems; may provide on the spot training to clients; participates in integration testing; documents solutions to common problems and responses to frequently asked questions; builds relationships with individual clients; identifies client service improvements and shares success stories with clients and team members; aware of service level agreement targets; takes steps to meet or exceed requirements; explains service procedures to clients; provides input during project planning and requirements phase; provides timely and complete project status reports to supervisor as requested.
  • Meet regularly and proactively with stakeholders to determine what applications/software/hardware that the division needs training in. Analyze and develop user documentation and training materials related to the coordination and presentation of workshops/classes related technology. Collaborate with functional users and the managers of the Information Technology department and with Pepperdine other technology support personnel on developing targeted training programs; communicate training availability to university and training efficacy to IT management.
  • Be involved in the entire project management process, including visiting with users to analyze processes, studying feasibility, designing, gathering feedback, implementation, and follow up.
  • Perform live, on-site meeting and event support in a confidential manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree or significant relevant experience required; courses in technology, business, education, theatre, cinema, graphic or information design required; 1-2 years of relevant work experience required. Demonstrates a working knowledge of basic hardware and software products and problem solving/troubleshooting skills required; advanced knowledge of working with computers and applications in a networked environment.

Preferred: Master's degree in business, communication, modern languages, natural science, religion, sociology, humanities, education, theatre, cinema, technology (computer science, graphic or information design) or related field preferred; courses in technology, education, graphic or informational design preferred; certification in computer applications preferred; experience training end users in hardware or software preferred; experience with project management preferred, experience with e-commerce a plus (for business development) preferred; event coordination and/or venue management preferred; film and/or theatre background preferred.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
