The Team Lead, Audio/Visual Technologies, will work closely with the Seaver College Technology Liaisons and Graduate Campus support staff to insure that all classroom technology is functioning and will constantly look for ways to improve the end user’s experience.


  • Meets regularly and proactively with the key university administrative staff, special division academic chairs, executive level administrators and faculty to determine audio visual needs and determine proper training delivery. Analyzes and develops user documentation and training materials related to the coordination and presentation of workshops/classes related technology. Collaborates with functional users and the managers of the Information Technology department and with other Pepperdine technology support personnel on developing targeted training programs; communicates training availability to university and training efficacy to IT management.
  • Manages Audio Visual projects for IT. Works closely with the Associate Director of Client Services and other IT directors to determine academic Audio Visual and overall university needs. Is involved in the entire project management process, including visiting with users to analyze processes, studying feasibility, designing, gathering feedback, implementation and following up.
  • Manages Information Technology/university's audio visual resources.
  • Assists in communications between all Seaver College Technologies Liaisons and Graduate Campus support staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Upholds University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent relevant experience. Advanced knowledge of working with audio visual equipment (projectors, digital video systems, audio systems, room control units); audio visual event planning; computers and applications in a networked environment; ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and server-related problems; knowledge working with Microsoft Office applications; file conversion, HTML and/or HTML editors; Graphic design software and graphic preparation for various delivery (Web, PowerPoint, etc.); digitization of materials (graphic and text scanning, slide scanning, etc.); knowledge of pedagogical theory, tips and techniques using technology.

Preferred: Degree in computer science; Master’s degree in business, communication, modern languages, natural science, religion, sociology, humanities, education, technology (computer science, graphic or information design) or related field; courses in technology, education, graphic or information design. Certification in computer applications; experience in training end users in both hardware and software; experience with project management; experience with use and administration of Extron AV equipment.
