Seaver College of Pepperdine University seeks to hire a Data and Analytics Specialist to enhance the College’s ability to make evidence-based decisions. This entry-level position will coordinate the collection, gathering, mining, analysis, and reporting of data related to student learning and other measures of student success (graduation rates, career placement rates, retention, etc.). With insights gained from predictive modeling and analytics, the Specialist will support leadership in advancing performance and efficiency across Seaver College.

Duties

  • Advance the goals of Seaver College by using data-informed insights to improve decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Pepperdine Information Technology and Business Intelligence units and serve as the director of the Academic Performance Solutions project for Seaver College.
  • Coordinate data collection and management for all areas of Seaver College.
  • Direct and perform data analysis and predictive analytics for all areas of Seaver College.
  • Collaborate to create new dashboards and forecasting modules for college leadership.
  • Proactively improve analytic approaches, methodologies, data, and reporting capabilities.
  • Participate in meetings to contribute evidence-based strategies and recommendations to college leadership.
  • Develop figures, tables, infographics, and reports to communicate effectively the results of projects and analyses.
  • Provide direct support to the Dean of Seaver College, as needed.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree. Exceptional organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Expertise using computer applications and software programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Acrobat, and Adobe Creative Suite. High level of digital fluency.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in statistics, analytics, data management, mathematics, computer science, or similar discipline. Prior work experience in data management and analytics. Experience using PeopleSoft and statistical analysis software, SPSS, SAS, R, or equivalent. Prior experience that demonstrates innovation, creativity, and initiative in a professional or work-related context.

This is a regular, exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
