The Administrative Coordinator exists to provide administrative, programmatic and clerical support for the Office of the Chaplain.


  • Provide administrative & clerical support for University Chaplain & Assistant Director of the Office of the Chaplain; manage the operation of PeopleSoft budget system for University Chaplain & Associate Chaplain; organize Google docs, fulfill paperwork, assist with worship services, other events & meetings, etc. Manage and maintain Office of the Chaplain website.
  • Provide office hospitality (phones and greet at the door) when assigned (May, June and July changes), Book rooms for entire office using 25 Live as needed.
  • Oversee office supplies, organization, office milestones and celebrations, tidy atmosphere and office equipment for the entire suite.
  • Attend convocation/chapel on a weekly basis, professional staff development opportunities, and University events such as monthly president's briefing.
  • Serve on Residential Emergency Response Team and provide on-site emergency response coordination of student activities.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's Degree required; strong typing and formal communication skills required. Two years of office management experience required; proven ability to create systems and organize forms for multiple events required; ability to balance professional customer service and pressing analytical duties in high traffic environment required. Personal faith in Jesus Christ; active involvement in a local church; demonstrated support for the Christian mission of the University is required for this position. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required; superior organizational skills and attention to detail required; proper phone and email etiquette required; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines required; problem-solving skills and ability to manage conflict required; ability to integrate Christian faith with student development theories and practice required. Proficiency in Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. required; familiarity with Google products including Gmail, Docs, Forms, Calendar, etc. required; knowledge of basic office equipment including fax, scanner, copier, phone systems, computer, etc. required.

Preferred: Customer service experience preferred. Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite (InDesign) or take class to learn to edit documents. Experience planning and executing events. Office experience in a Christian university setting preferred; supervisor experience with college age students preferred. Being an active member of a congregation of the Churches of Christ is preferred. Enjoy working with college-age students, faculty and staff. Background working with PeopleSoft or similar database systems preferred.

This is a regular, non-exempt, 32 hour per week, 11 month position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
