Duties

  • Work collaboratively with the Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) team to review grant proposals, budgets, and grant guidelines to confirm proposals are compliant with University & sponsor regulations. Responsible for ensuring proper University routing process is followed utilizing all necessary proposal submissions systems.
  • Identify, research, and evaluate potential sources of funding. Develop, draft, and edit grant applications (including new applications) and budgets (in collaboration with post-award staff).
  • Consult with and advise faculty and staff on funding applications, writing grant proposals, and developing grant budgets. Provide exceptional customer service to all faculty and staff engaged with RSP and/or in the process of grant preparation.
  • Prepare written reports for and work on special projects for the Assistant Provost for Research.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree; creative or legal writing experience. Strong writing skills, exceptional problem solving skills, ability to be thorough and manage shifting priorities and concurrent deadlines. Computers and other standard office equipment; Microsoft Word and Excel; Database searching proficiency

Preferred: M.A; 2 years professional writing/editing, especially grant proposals and/or 2 years research administration experience. Experience with PeopleSoft.

This is a regular, exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
