The Acquisitions Supervisor orders library materials in all formats to support learning, knowledge, and scholarship for students and faculty.

Duties

  • Order library materials in all formats
  • Manage processing tasks
  • Manage serials and standing orders
  • Process invoices
  • Create requisitions in the university financial management system for library databases, materials, and services
  • Forecast spending for selected vendors, submit invoices to OpenInvoice, and prepare Simpler reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Uphold University mission through work performed

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Minimum of two years of college. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; excellent organizational skills; knowledge of bibliographic data; the ability to perform detailed work; the ability to work independently and as a team member; the ability to move loaded book trucks. Excellent computer skills including keyboarding.

Preferred: 4-year college degree; bookkeeping experience; previous library experience. Reading knowledge of a foreign language; knowledge of MARC 21 and AACR2/RDA. Experience with OCLC Connexion, EBSCONET, PeopleSoft, and a library automation system.

This is a regular, non-exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
