The Admission Counselor position is designed to assist qualified applicants to complete/strengthen their applications and encourage enrollment. This position is created to support Fully Employed and Online MBA applicants, recruiters, and admission committee members during application completion process and review. This position performs functions critical for maintaining operational excellence, contributes to effective enrollment management, and ensures customers' satisfaction with admission and enrollment services effective enrollment management, and ensures customers' satisfaction with admission and enrollment services.

Duties

  • Provide counseling regarding admission requirements (applicants, Fully Employed Office staff, Recruitment and Marketing staff), generate application follow-up and admission decision communication. Make admission recommendations.
  • Review and audit FEMBA/Online MBA applications/uploaded admission applications. Evaluate incoming transcripts and other admission documentation. Review and update admission requirement (PS Checklist) status. Process GMAT Waivers.
  • Manage file completion projects including permanent file transfer to the Registrar's Office. Manage Nolij voting process with the FEMBA Admission Committee.
  • Assist the Admission Manager and assistant directors with process enhancement projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold the University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 2 years in admission, recruitment, or student services. Must be detail-oriented and result-driven with strong organizational, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills. Must be customer service oriented and a team-player. Strong ability to plan and prioritize. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, familiarity with imaging systems. Must be able to quickly assimilate new software, commercial databases, portal, and web sites.

Preferred: Master's degree. 3+ years of proven track record in higher education admission, recruitment, administration, and student systems. Proven track-record showing ability to work under pressure in education administration or recruitment environment. Proficiency in PeopleSoft, Nolij, Outlook, MS Access, and scanning equipment is preferred.

This is a regular, non-exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
