Pepperdine University is seeking an Executive Assistant for the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).  This position provides administrative and secretarial support to the CFO and assists with a variety of Finance Department processes. The Executive Assistant plays a key role in contributing to smooth operations of the Finance Team, in a visible and fast-paced environment.

The CFO oversees the Office of the Controller, General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Payroll, Systems, Credit and Accounts Receivable, Cashiers and Financial Planning.


  • Extensive calendaring.
  • Meeting preparation and follow-up on behalf of the CFO.
  • Attending meetings as note-taker and preparing meeting minutes.
  • Handling phone inquiries and other correspondences.
  • Document preparation, particularly presentations. 
  • Records retention organization and administration.
  • Collaborating and assisting other Finance staff and Executive Assistants as needed.
  • Special projects.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Associate’s degree, preferably in Administrative Studies or Business, with at least 3 years of experience working in an executive office.  Exceptional interpersonal skills required including executive level interactions and an ability to handle difficult conversations with diplomacy.  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  Pro-active and positive, with the ability to multi-task.  Strong Microsoft office computer skills, as well as Internet proficiency.  High degree of confidentiality is essential. Flexibility to work occasional evenings. Must demonstrate an interest to actively engage with Pepperdine students.

This is a regular, exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
