The Human Resources department, of Pepperdine University, maintains a list of individuals with strong general office, clerical and administrative skills who are available, often at short notice, to serve short-term, temporary assignments in various University departments. Assignments are available on multiple campuses, and lengths generally range from one day to several weeks. Working as a member of the Temporary Pool is an excellent way to become more familiar with Pepperdine, its people, campuses and values. The clerical temporary pool, maintained by Human Resources, is not designed to be a temporary to permanent arrangement. However, on occasion, a permanent position may become available in the department in which you work.   • Answer phones; greet visitors; process and file documents; manipulate and/or create spreadsheets; interact with a wide variety of university employees, faculty, students, alumni and friends with professionalism and tact.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Two years of administrative or general office experience; strong customer service skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills; support of the Christian mission of the university required. Experience with large database systems preferred and highly desirable. The ability to be productive, with minimal training, is essential for success in most temporary assignments. This is a temporary, non-exempt position with varying hours per week dependent on University needs.
