Works under the direction of the Audio Visual Technologies Team Lead to provide technical assistance, support and training to faculty, staff and students at the Malibu Campus. Helps manage classroom technology as well as provides support for select university events.

Duties

  • Responsible for providing support on A/V equipment, including projectors, sound systems, PA systems, conferencing systems and computers.
  • Configures, operates and maintains AV Equipment in the check-out office and installed in locations across the University.
  • Troubleshoots problems using scripts and checklists as guides: escalates when necessary.
  • Works with basic infrastructure products.
  • Researches trouble issues with guidance from others.
  • Documents problem status and resolution in tracking log.
  • Alerts team members about recurring problems.
  • Provide on-the-spot and scheduled training to clients.
  • Participates in integration testing.
  • Documents solutions to common problems and responses to frequently asked questions (FAQs).
  • Builds relationships with individual clients, including faculty, staff, students and VIPs.
  • Identifies client service improvements and shares success stories with clients and team members.
  • Is aware of service level agreement targets.
  • Takes steps to meet or exceed requirements.
  • Explains service procedures to clients.
  • Provides input during project planning and requirements phase.
  • Provides timely and complete project status reports to supervisor on a regular basis.
  • Support classes, including film classes as a projectionist.
  • Supports University functions, including governing board meetings, convocation programs, events, and orientations.
  • Meet regularly and proactively with faculty and staff to determine what applications/software/hardware that the division needs support and partnership with.
  • Analyze and develop user documentation and training materials related to the coordination and presentation of workshops/classes/meeting related technology.
  • Manage technology projects.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to determine scope.
  • Be involved in the entire project management process, including visiting with users to analyze processes, studying feasibility, designing, gathering feedback, implementation and follow up.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree required or significant relevant experience; courses in technology, business, education, theatre, cinema, graphic, or information design recommended. Advanced knowledge of working with computers and applications in a networked environment; ability to trouble-shoot hardware, software; knowledge working with Microsoft Office applications; file conversion. Working in a diverse environment. Working with confidential information. Mixing audio and/or video in live production.

This is a regular, exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
