This position is required to support quick financial aid application turnaround; it provides assistance with federal/state/institutional aid processing and compliance and allows to increase financial aid staff availability for students' counseling. This position administers key functions to ensure seamless student financial aid services, contributes to effective enrollment management and assures customers' satisfaction.


  • Review financial aid applications. Assist with the application follow up/communication processes and federal/state/institutional aid packaging. Responds to financial aid related inquires. Generate financial aid reports.
  • Assist the Associate Director with system set up/testing processes and annual updates. Responsible for maintaining Financial Aid calendar. Assist the Associate Director with systems and aid issue resolutions.
  • Provide support with student financial aid counseling. Participate in orientation and other events required financial aid staff involvement. Assist with setting up webinars and in-person trainings.
  • Attend professional development and financial aid training workshops.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's Degree and current experience in the federal and state aid delivery system. A minimum of 3 years of current experience with administering financial aid programs. Strong knowledge of federal/state financial aid delivery system. Excellent communication/customer service /interpersonal skills, outgoing, service and detail oriented. Strong organizational skills. Ability to administer individual and group counseling sessions. Ability to work with an adult professional population. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, familiarity with imaging processes, web based systems and applications. Familiarity with ELM, NSLDS, COD. Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and organize short and long term tasks. Ability to travel domestically. Ability to maintain a positive attitude. Have a valid California driver license.

Preferred: Master's Degree, Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance. 5 years of position-related experience. Familiarity with mainframe databases and web-based applications as well as with ELM. Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft Student System. Proficiency in ELM, NSLDS, COD and Nolij.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
