The Events Manager is responsible for overseeing and planning events at the School of Law, including maintaining and updating event procedures and serving as logistical point person for all law school events that do not fit into an existing department. This position also supervises the Event Coordinator and is responsible for distributing event responsibilities to various School of Law departments. A diverse array of high quality events (i) provides multiple opportunities for law students to explore and identify their purpose in the legal profession, (ii) introduces outside speakers to Pepperdine University and the School of Law, and (iii) enhances the reputation of Pepperdine University and the School of Law.

Duties

  • Provide direction and support for all School of Law events across departments.
  • Oversee and execute all event logistics at the School of Law that are not led by a specific department.
  • Review event requests and manage the the master event calendar. Lead meetings with team leaders to discuss, approve, and plan events.
  • Manage all aspects of events including, but not limited to, planning, attending, ticketing, confirmations, payments, and other logistics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree. Demonstrated experience in an events role, preferably in higher education or non-profit organizations. Strong written and verbal skills. Experience in digital communications. Extreme attention to detail and superior organizational skills. Outstanding interpersonal skills. Demonstrated skill at building collaborative relationships. Ability to work independently and as a team. Familiarity with all Microsoft Office Suite products and Google applications.

Preferred: Experience in a law school environment. Experience with Salesforce/Fonteva and Raiser's Edge.

This is a regular, exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
