Perform the procurement function by timely and effectively acquiring goods and services for the University Community using the PeopleSoft Procurement system in a manner consistent with University Policy and sound purchasing practices. Promote competitive bidding where appropriate to do so. Provide sound procurement advice and act as a good steward of the University. This position will support the University's strategic plan by maintaining its purchasing function.

Duties

  • Maintain the University's purchasing function by effective provision of centralized services, as well as by establishment of sound policies, in cooperation with the Director of Purchasing Manager.
  • Provide for positive service, building interaction with all users of purchasing services.
  • Assist in negotiation and administration of all University contracts handled by purchasing.
  • Examine and evaluate University purchasing expenditures to ensure policies are upheld.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Two years of college or equivalent experience. Four years of business experience. Strong analytical and good communication skills. PC skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet.

Preferred: Purchasing experience preferred. PeopleSoft experience preferred.

This is a regular, nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
