In alignment with the University's pursuit of excellence and its long-range strategic plan, Pepperdine is looking to hire a Budget Analyst to steward University financial resources. Through budget management, reporting, and analysis, this position provides financial transparency into the operations of the University. It enhances management's ability to make sound, data-driven financial decisions - all of which directly affect the student educational experience.

Duties

  • Review, edit, and post budget adjustment requests. 
  • Work with major area budget managers to plan, forecast, and report on University revenues and expenditures.
  • Monitor general ledger journal postings and serve as a liaison in resolving journal errors.
  • Provide institutional financial information for surveys requested by various external entities.
  • Assist in compiling and entering data in University planning and budgeting system (Oracle PBCS) during monthly forecast and annual budget process.
  • Assist in month-end variance analyses as well as ad hoc analyses as needed.
  • Design presentations and resources for executive-level audiences that demonstrate insight into business drivers and risks.
  • Routinely maintain and update various financial schedules used by University personnel
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in a business related field (accounting, finance, business); Excellent critical thinking skills; Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Experience with analytical tools is preferred; Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

This is a regular, exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
