The Admissions and Student Services Coordinator position is designed to assist applicants through the application process for all Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution academic programs. This person is responsible for the daily processing of all applications received and timely communication with each applicant. This person is often the first point of contact with our office and plays an essential role developing relationships with current and future applicants. Other key duties include managing the undergraduate students participating in our program and tracking/processing scholarship awards for all Straus students.

Duties

  • Receive and process admission applications; notify applicants of missing materials; coordinate skype interviews to interact with applicants and assess English abilities; ensure applications are moved efficiently through the admissions process until a decision has been reached. Maintain all application/admission statistics.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all undergraduate students taking Straus classes; track Certificate requirements for these students; manage their enrollment process; confirm completion of program and organize their graduation reception once a year.
  • Track and process all Straus student scholarships.
  • Assist Straus leadership with their calendars, appointments, travel arrangements and processing of expenses/reimbursement.
  • Assist with the planning and logistics of new student orientation each semester. This includes being available to pick up international students at the airport outside of regular business hours and help students get settled into their accommodations.
  • Maintain and track academic program changes. Update Straus academic policy and student handbook each year.
  • Assist with the application process for J-1 visa visiting researchers.
  • Coordinate annual information sessions for JD students to learn more about Straus program options including the Certificate, MDR as well as specialized lunchtime programs.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Exceptional people, communication and organizational skills are a must. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and interact with a diverse student and applicant population is essential to this position.

Preferred: Bachelors degree and 1-2 years of experience working in an office environment. Prior experience with Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft and/or Salesforce is preferred.

This is a restricted, nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
