The Human Resources Analyst is responsible for managing data integrity in all HR systems through routine auditing, reporting, and maintenance. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Total Compensation and Strategic Analysis, this role involves strong attention to detail paired with the ability to think critically and strategically to support the mission of Pepperdine University and the vision of Human Resources.

Duties

  • Process faculty contracts through the custom PeopleSoft HCM module and serve as the primary point of contact for department contract originators.

  • Run routine system audits of all new and existing data in PeopleSoft HCM to ensure data integrity.

  • Write and run database queries for all reporting and distribution list requests.

  • Assist with salary survey participation, compensation analysis, and preparing compensation reports.

  • Process invoices and request purchase orders for Human Resources systems. Research the latest tools and options to support HR workflows and collaborate with outside vendors.

  • Assist with employment related payroll procedures, including processing of manual time sheets and ensuring proper completion of retroactive payment forms.

  • Verify eligibility for University benefits. Audit recipients of benefits to ensure funds are appropriately applied.

  • Manage position change requests, job code changes, and the system department tree.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 1-2 years experience with database systems and data processing. Intermediate to advanced competency with Microsoft Excel. Proficient with Google Suite. Strong written and oral communication skills, strong customer service and interpersonal skills, ability to use discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information, ability to organize and prioritize changing workload. Must dress professionally, be supportive of the University’s Christian mission and have ability to integrate faith with HR practice.

Preferred: Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency strongly preferred. Experience with PeopleSoft HCM or similar HRIS. Experience in higher education or a non-profit environment.
