Reporting to the Senior Director of Technology, Digital Initiatives and Innovation, this position is responsible for logistics, outreach and communication to implement GSEP's Alumni Relations' strategic Engagement and Enrollment Plan which engage alumni in mutually beneficial, lifelong relationships with Pepperdine. The position works with alumni, volunteers, staff and faculty to execute and continuously improve programming and build alumni loyalty. The coordinator is the manager of the department.

Duties

  • Create and implement Annual Engagement and Enrollment Strategic plan for Alumni Relations.
  • Create outreach efforts for alumni events and programs to build engagement. Oversee the entering of accurate, current data on web pages, Trumba calendar, electronic publications, flyers, newsletters and social media. Maintain branding.
  • Cultivate professional relationships with alumni, faculty, staff and students. Keep abreast of development at Pepperdine Alumni Affairs and other schools. Identify opportunities for synergy. Advance best practices.
  • Oversee Alumni Blog, social media platforms and stay abreast of current technology that can support the engagement efforts of alumni.
  • Collaborate on planning and support of programs for alumni; shared interest groups; recognition events; alumni benefits and service, affinity groups, service events, and alumni news updates for publications per strategy.
  • Identify and contact alumni to serve in leadership and other various roles in response to the college''s mission in assisting with the building of the profession and make recommendations regarding alumni to the Executive Director.
  • Develop opportunities to foster relationships with alumni through events such as admission recruitment, the College''s newsletter, distinguished alumni lecture series and other planned events.
  • Coordinate event logistics: venue selection, menus, catering, timeliness, photographer, check-in, post event follow up; communicate with participants in detailed and timely manner, include travel in all of Pepperdine campus and other venues.
  • Maintain database in Raiser''s Edge; write queries and prepare data export as needed for publications or alumni outreach. Oversee the event data entry into Raiser''s Edge; Oversee the updating of alumni records; producing of quarterly reports from all systems.
  • Ensure accurate and complete alumni database records capturing contact biographical and career information via surveys, directories, and correspondence and website portals.
  • Record and report all alumni donor activity in an accurate and timely manner and prepare reports and queries in support of fundraising campaigns.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree and/or 5-10 years of experience in planning and managing special events and fundraising activities, development, non-profit marketing or related field (preferably in an academic environment). Demonstrated success in executing events, planning programs, and engagement. Exhibits excellence in customer service and leadership. Well-versed is MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photo-shop or comparable design program. Knowledge of cloud-based storage. Personal cell phone is required (mobile phone allowance is provided); professional demeanor; travel is required as needed.

Preferred: Master's degree. Experience with PeopleSoft and/or other CRM providers. Experience with Raiser's Edge. Experience organizing and mapping out communication plans. Prior Higher Education admission and recruitment experience.
