Pepperdine University seeks applicants for the regular, full time position of Associate Lab Manager for the Natural Science Division of Seaver College, Malibu campus. Candidates meeting the qualifications shown below will be considered.


  • Coordinate the operation and maintenance of the science laboratories and stockroom.
  • Consult with faculty to plan and support laboratory and field experiences for their classes and research projects.
  • Consult with the division chair to plan and manage related budgets; track grant accounts. 
  • Coordinate with numerous other university offices and facility personnel.
  • Maintain facilities, records, budgets and inventories; hire, train and supervise student employees; maintain cost and availability information for supplies/equipment.
  • Plan for acquisition of all lab supplies, including chemicals, animals and equipment; insure the safe and secure storage of these items in compliance with fire and safety code.
  • Make logistical arrangements for field trips, and drive 15 passenger van when needed; run local errands.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science or equivalent; job related experience including management experience preferred; First Aid/CPR certificates and valid California Class II Driver License (must be willing/able to obtain); knowledge of general scientific laboratory equipment; willingness to observe appropriate safety protocols.
