The purpose of the Admissions & Communication Manager is to coordinate and support recruitment and marketing projects for prospective, admitted, and current students. This position supports all business processes for applicants during the application cycle. This position provides professional customer service and counseling to prospective students regarding the application requirements and admission process. The Admissions & Communication Manager represents Pepperdine Law at various recruitment events during the fall and throughout the year, thus promoting the University's mission.


  • Develop communications and messaging to prospective and admitted student in conjunction with the Dean and Director. 
  • Manage the recruitment, yield, and marketing projects for prospective and admitted students.
  • Collaborate with the Content Manager with social media efforts for the Office of Admissions.
  • Assist in developing content for publications and communications.
  • Manage the application process. Includes updating the FlexApp, processing decisions, managing acceptance responses, purging prospects, archiving applicants.
  • Assist and counsel prospective and admitted students during the recruitment and application process.
  • Register for all recruiting law events, manage recruiting materials for the events and oversee the admission event calendar. Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of each event in relation to recruitment goals.
  • Evaluate select admission files and recommend decisions.
  • Attend regional and national recruitment events on behalf of Pepperdine Law.
  • Support other student services processes as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, customer service skills, creative, detail-oriented, energetic, highly organized, data entry and word processing skills. Must be free of conflicts of interest. Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education/experience. Ability to communicate ideas, both written and verbal, with precision. Ability to work with a diverse community of faculty, staff, students, and external constituencies.

Preferred: Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly. Experience with marketing campaigns, and Adobe Photoshop.

This is a regular, nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
