The administrative coordinator will serve as the first point of contact for students, parents and prospective students seeking information about the Student Success Center (SSC). Secondly, this position facilitates the on-going, and day-to-day administrative activities within the Success Center; working closely with the director and assistant director of student services. This position would advance goals 1 and 5 specifically of the University Strategic Plan: 1) Advance student learning and superior scholarship and 5) Develop resources that support the aspiration to be a premier, global Christian university. Additionally, the position contributes to the mission by recognizing the student as the center of the academic enterprise and a person of infinite dignity.

Duties

  • Serve as the first point of contact for students, parents and prospective students seeking information about the Success Center. Assist with customer service functions including office reception and calendar management.
  • Coordinate with the director of the Student Success Center in supervising student workers and tutors carrying out daily clerical responsibilities in the Success Center.
  • Event Planning: Organize events for the Student Success Center including; NSO, PSP, Open House, etc.; including setting calendar, taking RSVPs, catering, event logistics, invitations, etc.
  • Provide general office support for the director of the Student Success Center; maintain appointment calendar and plan travel; reconcile departmental credit card statements and cash expenses. 
  • Create and enact strategies to promote and publicize the Success Center to all student and faculty populations; work efficiently and compassionately with students and faculty of diverse populations to facilitate student success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.
  • Manage the Student Success Center (SSC) website and social media accounts.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree required. Enthusiastic and positive demeanor; ability to establish work priorities; strong communication skills both verbal and written; and knowledge of office procedures. Experience working with diverse and non-traditional student populations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to consistently be at work and on time, follow instructions (verbal and written), respond to management direction and solicit feedback to improve performance; ability to embrace and promote a diverse environment. Must be proficient with MS Office,especially Word and Excel. PC, Mac, Phone, Printers, Copiers, Media/Presentation Equipment.

Preferred: In office administration in interacting with students, prospective students, faculty ,and administrators; superior phone skills, creating an excellent first impression to all callers; effective written communication skills.
Preferred: Web Design and Social Media skills, Adobe Creative Cloud, Illustrator, Microsoft and Google Suites. Experience with: 25Live, PeopleSoft, Nolji, familiarity with using an HTML editor.

This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position. The hours for this position are as follows: Monday-Thursday, 11 am - 8 pm and Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
