This position will provide career services to Fully Employed MBA, MS, and BSM students at the Encino and Calabasas Graduate Campuses, and Online BSM students. Primary functions will include providing career advisement to students via in person, phone or virtual sessions and facilitating professional development opportunities that support students’ needs with respect to professional preparation and advancement. This position will also create and manage on campus/virtual events and conduct employer outreach for employer site visits for both Encino and Calabasas campuses. Position is located out of the Encino campus with 1x/month travel to Calabasas campus and occasional travel to other campuses when meetings are scheduled. Working occasional nights and weekends required.

This position supports the mission in developing values-centered leaders for the contemporary business world through education that is entrepreneurial in spirit, ethical in focus, and global in orientation. In both function and spirit, the position is shaped by the values of service, purpose, and leadership that are embraced throughout the Graziadio School. In extending its scope to serving alumni, the position also helps to cultivate a life long relationship with Pepperdine and Graziadio.


  • Provide Fully Employed students and alumni resources and guidance pertaining to various aspects of their career preparation and management. 
  • Develop and implement Career and Professional Development webinars and events. Involve corporate partners and alumni in developing industry and functional events.
  • Facilitate networking opportunities for students through professional associations. Provide guidance on maximizing the value of these opportunities toward the exploration and advancement of their careers.
  • Leverage existing and emerging career and professional development platforms to broaden the reach of services provided to students and alumni and strengthen connections among them. 
  • Assist in the facilitation of connections for students and alumni. Outreach to alumni, attend alumni events and collaborate with Alumni and External Engagement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Undergraduate degree in counseling, business, or related field. Two to three years of experience in career counseling, training/development, and/or corporate recruitment. Experience developing informational and training workshops and actively engaging diverse constituents through the use of social media and other technology platforms. Strong counseling and inter-personal skills and professional poise interacting with a wide range of stakeholders. Familiarity and competency with various Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint). Standard office equipment (computer, printer, copier, fax/phone, video-conferencing); common computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office products).

Preferred: Masters degree in counseling, business, or related field. Five years of experience working in career services and/or corporate relations. Demonstrated record of partnering with industry representatives to facilitate and expand employment prospects for populations served. Familiarity with common career development tools and platforms (e.g., CareerLeader, Interview Stream, and Gradleaders). Familiarity with web-based professional networking and social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) and career assessment inventories.

This is a Restricted, Exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary:  Commensurate with experience.
