The Psychology@Pepperdine online programs include the MACLP program, which prepares students to become LMFT's and LPCC's, the MSBP Program which prepares students to work as applied behavior analysts, and the MAP program which prepares students for further study in psychology or careers in the field. These aims are consistent with the mission of Pepperdine University to prepare students for lives of service, purpose and leadership. The Program Administrator of the Online Psychology Programs at GSEP plays a critical role in the administration of these programs and as such supports both program's contribution to the university's mission. This position will be based out of either Pepperdine's West LA or Irvine campus.

Duties

  • Responsible for coordinating class schedules and faculty teaching assignments 4 times a year for 3 degree programs with approximately 850 students. This includes interfacing with teams at 2U (our online program management partner) and other departments within GSEP.
  • Provides administrative support to 2 Associate Directors (~60% support to Associate Director MACLP/MAP and ~40% support to Associate Director MSBP).
  • Responsible for coordinating all training for online psychology faculty members, which includes conducting new faculty orientation 4 times a year and updating all online psychology faculty resources on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for reporting on class registration data and data pertaining to faculty assignments on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for coordinating the distribution of books and other class materials 4 times a year for both faculty and students in accordance with internal policies and deadlines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (including, but not limited to, maintaining the Psychology@Pepperdine calendar, scheduling meetings and arranging rooms, preparing minutes of Psychology@Pepperdine program meetings, and assisting with Psychology@Pepperdine events).

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree, preferably in psychology or a related field. Fluency in Google Suite applications, Microsoft Office applications, and Adobe Acrobat. Some previous administrative experience required. Experience in managing list serves and other forms of electronic communication, e.g., electronic surveys and calendars. Work experience that required attention to detail, excellent organization and communication skills, independent follow-through. Familiarity with or ability to quickly develop competence in web-based applications and in the preparation of web-based content. Skills in writing professional memos, reports, and other communications. Ability to build effective working relationships other professionals. Evidence of ability to work effectively on teams. 

Preferred: Master's degree in psychology or related field. Experience working in online education preferred. Experience in a values-based, Christian institution and familiarity with graduate education in psychology as well as the profession of psychology.  Experience in database management, editorial skills, web-design, "self-starter" / innovator. Experience in the development and maintenance of databases and on-line information systems and familiarity with web-based applications and design.
