Individuals within the ERP Applications Development career progression work closely with clients, business analysts, and team members to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions for the development and operation of ERP systems. They typically design, test and debug ERP software, while also providing client support, consultation, and subject matter expertise for day-to-day operations, maintenance and support. ERP developers ensure that all ERP applications are in compliance with the organization's architectural standards. ERP Applications Developers configure, analyze, design, develop, and maintain ERP program codes and applications to support business processes and functions. They also work on elements of large, complex installations.

ERP Applications Development professionals typically design, test, and debug ERP software. They assist in such day-to-day operations as troubleshooting problems arising from regular use, production support, and maintaining the ERP platform. They develop scripts for data merging and migration and assist in the development of ERP interfaces to internal and external systems. ERP developers have experience in systems design and have a solid understanding of application development, database development, application, and system testing, and integration methodologies.

ERP Applications Development professionals may work as individual contributors, team members, or as technical team leaders. They understand the technical environments upon which the ERP application is run and work closely with database planning and infrastructure operations. They also provide client support, consultation, and subject matter expertise for day-to-day operations, maintenance, and support.

Duties

  • University Mission: Understands and supports the Christian mission of the University. Upholds the University mission through team location atmosphere and work performed
  • Application Development/Application Production Support: Works extensively with all aspects of the PeopleSoft Development environment and employing various reporting tools. Responsible for developing and maintaining multiple complex interfaces to and from the ERP system. Responsible for high-level support and troubleshooting all issues related to functional processes that are not working to the business community's satisfaction. Participates in or may lead design efforts for new, mid-level programs and integrated processes. Designs may be custom or involve adaptation of/or integration to a third party or other packaged applications software. Design activities may involve learning package software and evaluating configuration options of the application against business requirements. Demonstrates the ability to perform systems development tasks and manage multiple development tasks is necessary. 
  • Beyond Job Duties: Volunteers to undertake tasks that stretch the employee's capabilities. Performs other related duties as assigned. 
  • Collaboration: Provides backup support and assistance to other team members. Collaborates with co-workers and university colleagues on departmental, division-wide, and institutional projects. Shares process information and make informal recommendations on how to improve processes and overall job execution within the team/department. 
  • Professional Development: Attends training, vendor presentations, user group meetings, conferences, and seminars. Engages regularly in individual professional development related activities to remain current with industry technology trends and work processes.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Requires 3-4 years of programming and/or Oracle Peoplesoft ERP systems analysis experience. Requires good knowledge programming techniques and software design using Peoplesoft Development Environment. May require knowledge of ERP applications or object-oriented analysis and design. Peoplecode, Application Engine, Integration Broker, SQR, SQL, DMS, Basic Unix knowledge.

Preferred: A bachelor’s degree in programming/systems or computer science or equivalent experience. PeopleSoft FSCM version 9.2, UNIX, Database experience, Nvision, XML/BI Publisher. Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure concepts is a plus.

This is a Regular, Exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: $85,000-$95,000 annually.
