This position supports the University's mission of strengthening students' lives for purpose, service, and leadership because it coordinates career-related events and speakers that help law students identify their career path and find jobs. It also supports the law school Career Development Office's career counselors and recruiting coordinator, who also help students identify their career path and find jobs. This enables students to achieve their career goals, a crucial part of their realization of purpose, service, and leadership goals. The School of Law Career Development Office provides law students and alumni with comprehensive and individualized career services through placement assistance, career counseling, professional development programs, and marketing of student and alumni candidates to employers.

Duties

  • Answering phones from students, alumni, and employers and routing them to the correct team member for assistance. Managing the CDO email account.

  • Tracking and managing the CDO budget for the fiscal year. Reallocating and substantiating every credit card across 4 credit card accounts. Renewing all annual subscriptions held by the CDO. Processing expense reimbursement requests and requisitions.

  • Scheduling appointments for students and alumni and tracking meeting attendance and survey participation for 1L appointments, 2L appointments, 3L exit interviews, summer experience surveys, and graduate employment surveys; Requesting reciprocity from other ABA-accredited schools on behalf of students and alumni; granting reciprocity to students and alumni from other ABA-accredited schools. Acting as primary liaison between CDO and other offices within the Caruso School of Law (marketing, events, admissions, etc.) Organizing and scheduling all CDO staff retreats and meetings and maintaining meeting Minutes. Scheduling, reserving rooms, and planning all CDO-sponsored events (typically 1+ event per week during the school year). Designing and advertising event and marketing materials. Annually coordinating the production of the CDO Guidebook. Tracking and coordinating forms required for employment reporting.

  • Providing key assistance during fall and spring on-campus interview programs (reserving rooms, submitting event requests, creating marketing materials, filing and organizing resumes, greeting employers, ordering and often picking up catering orders, overseeing student arrivals for interviews.)

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

Required: A Bachelor's Degree; Demonstrated experience in administrative support. General office skills; planning skills; excellent analytical and interpersonal skills; outstanding oral and written communication skills; ability to work as an effective team player, particularly during peak workflow projects; proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; proficiency in Google Suite; ability to multitask; ability to adapt rapidly changing priority situations; self-directed with the ability to work under minimal supervision; ability to work flexible hours during peak times; some familiarity or experience in the legal industry a plus

Preferred: Some familiarity or experience in the legal industry is a plus but not at all required.

This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
