Under the supervision of the Department Chair, adjunct faculty members are responsible for teaching assigned courses in accordance with learning objectives. Adjunct faculty positions are temporary positions, based on need and availability in a geographical area. Pepperdine Graziadio Business School (PGBS) is seeking to hire adjuncts for the following locations: Calabasas, Encino, Irvine, Malibu, Online, and West Los Angeles Campuses.

Duties

  • Maintain and enhance the quality of teaching in the program
  • Communicate with lead faculty who developed the course
  • Prepare interactive presentations/lessons for quality face-to-face or online teaching
  • Participate in orientation and technology trainings
  • Respond to student inquiries in a timely manner
  • Provide substantive and ongoing feedback to students
  • Communicate student concerns to Program Office
  • Submit book orders, syllabi, class roster verifications, and grades on time
  • Record and approve time worked in Kronos system
  • Attend adjunct faculty meetings; traveling as required to campus and other locations

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Master’s degree in business or related field. University-level teaching experience or working with adult learners. Familiarity with best practices for effective adult learning theory, content-specific pedagogy, and instructional practices. Technological aptitude and ability to acquire new skills quickly. Skilled in Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, Video Conferencing, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication and presentation skills required. Flexible schedule, availability during school hours, and ability to travel to specified site locations. Self-motivation, organization, and aptitude in working independently. Professionalism and ability to work with faculty and students in a respectful manner.

This is an adjunct, nonexempt, 10-12 hour per week position with multiple openings.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
