The purpose of this position is to assist the Senior Associate Dean and support the Seaver Deans Office. This position supports the University's mission and strategic plan through the assistance it provides to one of Seaver's key decision-makers, the Senior Associate Dean of the college. The person in this position also interacts directly with faculty and students, providing them with necessary tools and resources.

Duties

  • Request event captioning, produce CoursEval reports, coordinate student progress survey, process summer school VISAs, update Faculty handbook, process Who''s Who awards. , support Course Scheduler and analytics implementation and ongoing usage.
  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Associate Dean (e.g. draft/mail correspondence, manage the dean's calendar, book travel reservations, reallocate and substantiate credit card charges, maintain files, research best practices, etc.).
  • Plan and/or assist with event preparation and execution. Events include: Seaver Faculty Association meetings each semester, annual Faculty retreat, Seaver Dean''s lectures and Faculty/Staff meetings, Seaver College graduation and Baccalaureate service.
  • Serve as an Application Administrator for Navigate. Manage the updating of academic plans for Academic Planning and implement strategic training on Navigate tools for students, faculty and staff. Serve on the leadership team for EAB ongoing implementation.
  • Support the RTP and FTF process for faculty. Assist with coordination, advertising and analytics support for summer school.
  • Support the Seaver Deans Office with phone coverage, proofreading, PeopleSoft, creating requisitions, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: B.A./B.S. degree required; computer literacy; Microsoft Office, Word, Excel; No less than three years of office experience. Knowledge of Pepperdine; exceptional writing skills; able to maintain confidentiality; high degree of attention to details; ability to listen attentively; ability to work with a variety of people; public relations skills; ability to function under pressure; ability to work efficiently; overall concepts and applications; aptitude and willingness to learn; knowledge of Microsoft. PC literacy; copy, fax and phone

Preferred: PeopleSoft Student Records training; Course by Sakai; Google Apps; Wikis; Three years of college or university office experience.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
