The Event Coordinator provides support to the Event Manager at the School of Law. In addition, the Event Coordinator will serve as the coordinating lead on various Law School events, including those for the online programs and office of diversity and belonging. Contribution to the University's mission and strategic plan is made by coordinating a diverse array of high-quality events by helping students explore and identify their purpose in the legal profession, enhancing the School of Law’s reputation, and introducing new speakers to the School of Law community.


  • Coordinates all Residency Events for the online programs; coordinates events for the office of diversity and belonging 
  • Attends events, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Coordinates all room scheduling and calendar events; approves event requests as needed; updates event request response sheet and calendars changes; coordinates logistics for upcoming events such as catering, signing contracts, liaising with vendors/venues, managing budgets, etc.
  • Creates check-in lists and name tags for events; Coordinates travel and hotel accommodations for guest speakers and panelists
  • Works with various on-campus departments, including audio/visual, warehouse services, on campus catering, etc., to ensure event details are correct; Creates simple flyers and invitations for smaller events 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 
  • Uphold University mission through work performed

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Basic office experience; strong computer skills; proficiency and confidence in Excel, Word, Google Docs/Sheets/Forms, Gmail; strong oral and written communication skills; the ability to stand for long durations; the ability to lift no more than 40 pounds; effective interpersonal and public relations skills; the qualities of a self-starter; strong organizational skills; the ability to work as a team member; the ability to understand and read a budget; effective problem solver. Strong written and verbal skills. Experience in digital communications. Extreme attention to detail and superior organizational skills. Outstanding interpersonal skills. Demonstrated skill at building collaborative relationships. Ability to work independently and as a team. Familiarity with all Microsoft Office Suite products and Google applications.

Preferred: College degree; knowledge of University systems and procedures including Raiser’s Edge; knowledge of Salesforce/Fonteva; knowledge of Photoshop and/or InDesign. Experience with Fonteva and Raisers Edge.
