The Finance Operations Manager is responsible for the administration and operations of the Finance department and the Finance leadership team.


  • Administrative Support for Finance Leadership Team: Provide general office support: administer files, supplies, mail, and other forms of operational support. Assist in managing the finance leadership's calendar and appointment schedule based on the needs and priorities of the department, requiring interaction with both internal and external constituents, to coordinate a variety of complex meetings. Maintain a recurring administrative calendar and coordinate timing of action items for time-sensitive projects. Develop and execute travel plans for the leadership team. Coordinate lunches, meetings, and events.
  • Reconcile Accounts Payable and Payroll Clearing Accounts: With appropriate supervision, reconcile the accounts payable and payroll clearing account on a monthly basis - resolving all issues in a timely fashion. Perform additional account reconciliation and analysis as requested by the Finance Leadership team. 
  • Customer Service: Provide the highest level of service on the phones and handling inquiries and directing all incoming calls to the appropriate party promptly and efficiently. Serve as the leadership team's liaison to various constituents through written correspondence, phone, and in-person contact, representing finance at meetings as needed. 
  • Charitable Organizations: Prepare and file the university's state charitable organization registrations.
  • Ad Hoc Audit Support: Provide ongoing, ad-hoc audit support (retrieving invoices, check copies, etc.) for annual external audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Superior organization skills; proven track-record of accuracy; strong communication skills both oral and written, including editing and proof-reading ability; demonstrated professional record of taking initiative; word processing, spreadsheet, and database management; able to give careful attention to detail and accuracy; able to handle multiple tasks, establish priorities, work with staff of varying management styles.

Preferred: Two years of office management experience; customer service or student services experience.

This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
