Under the supervision of the Director of Faculty Affairs, this position collaborates regularly with Faculty Affairs staff and Department Chairs to meet the goals and objectives related to the Faculty Affairs Department. This position provides faculty and department chairs with a high level of customer service and administrative support that enhances the academic experience by: (a) managing book orders, (b) overseeing Course Syllabus tool and reporting, (c) providing support for Pepperdine’s online portfolio and application system, (d) assisting with faculty awards/development funds, and (e) preparing reports and managing department data.


  • Prepares reports and manages department data upon request.
  • Assists with the faculty annual review by providing support, training, and development for Pepperdine's online portfolio and application system (Interfolio's Faculty 180 & Faculty Search).
  • Oversees Course Syllabus tool and reporting to Department Chairs each term.
  • Collaborates with Pepperdine bookstore in facilitating book order requests each term.
  • Participates in monthly team meetings and supports department events (i.e. commencement).
  • Assists with annual faculty awards and development funds.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality while following University, school, and department policies & procedures. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs or the Director of Faculty Affairs.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree; general office experience. Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and relationship skills; excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks; strong proofreading and software skills. Proficient in Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Calendar, Gmail, etc.)

Salary: Commensurate with experience
