The University’s director of business administration serves as a member of the Chief Business Officer’s leadership team and reports to the vice president and chief business officer. This position oversees short and long-term projects and assignments through various operational areas, including but not limited to business services, human resources, graduate campuses, real estate operations, governmental affairs, sustainability, and public safety, encompassing general business, financial, and operational aspects of these departments. This position also works closely with the chief operating officer; assistant vice president for administration and campus operations; general counsel; associate vice president for planning, operations, and construction; associate vice president of business services and human resources; executive director of business services administration; assistant vice president of governmental affairs and public safety; and others.
The director of business administration works on institutional initiatives, coordinates presentations, and assists with the development of policies, analyses, benchmarks, reorganizations, and reports as needed. Highly developed analytic and strategic skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in multiple formats, especially writing, will be critically important. In great measure, this role depends on collaboration and cooperation. Relationship development and the ability to work seamlessly within established teams, without creating divisions and overcoming natural hesitancies, is crucial to success in this position. Professionalism with grace is imperative. - Oversee and partner with business services department projects (identify and administer short and long-term projects and assignments with various operational areas, encompassing general business, financial, and operational aspects of these departments.)
- Propose and oversee business administration initiatives (lead and support institutional initiatives, and division goals, coordinate presentations, and assist with the development of policies, analyses, and reorganizations.)
- Assist with projects, reports, and assignments (maintain, prioritize, and administer a high-level task list; develop, review and edit presentations; prepare documents; write and edit reports and communications; benchmark and research data.)
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Preferred: Juris Doctorate; Five years of professional or educational experience in related fields; Experience or background in faith-based higher education; Familiarity with Pepperdine University
