The Salesforce Events System Specialist will focus on the creation of events, management of the event system, development of best practices and deployment of standards for University event creators. The Salesforce Events System Specialist is responsible for the development and execution of event campaigns and event promotions including system administration, user training, and campaign reporting for Pepperdine University.

The Salesforce Events System Specialist will implement all aspects of the platform, explore opportunities to increase the value of events as they relate to the overall Salesforce CRM initiative and the Salesforce Marketing Cloud, create events when required, provide support to event managers, and conduct ongoing event data reporting. Integrated Marketing Communications is directly tasked with supporting the University's mission and strategic plan by building brand equity, elevating the University's national reputation, providing strong and consistent institutional message leadership, and implementing effective integrated marketing and communication strategies. The Salesforce Events System Specialist fulfills a central role in helping the department accomplish its goals.

Duties

  • Event Operations - Increase value of events as part of the University's CRM initiative, update current Salesforce processes, and oversee best practices and event standards across the University. Provide support to event managers through Salesforce events platforms.
  • Event Administration - Administer event management system to include permissions, access, workflows, policies, and branding standards. 
  • Analytics & Reporting - Produce and distribute event performance reports. Identify key metrics and new opportunities to make strategic recommendations to improve reporting.
  • Trends - Conduct research related to e-marketing trends and best practices. Keep abreast of current Web marketing trends and technologies in higher education.
  • Uphold the university mission through work performed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree. 2 years of experience working in a Salesforce environment utilizing Salesforce event registration, and communication tools. 2 years of HTML experience. 1 year of Adobe Creative Suite experience. At least 2-3 years experience in a Salesforce environment. Proven understanding of and experience with: creating events ranging from single day to multi-day events, page layout and design; user browser behavior; understanding of SEO; development of organizational/structural concepts and project management processes for major web development. Computer and email software systems and tools.

Preferred: Master's degree. Experience with Salesforce Event Systems. Experience with interactive online community applications. Experience using Google Analytics. Experience with marketing automation, email campaigns, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Experience in a higher education environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to present and train.
Mac and PC proficiency.
