The Director of Pre-Health Advising will coordinate, organize, and co-lead (with the Faculty Advisor) pre-health advising activities at Seaver College.


  • Work collaboratively and in synergy with the Faculty Pre-Health Advisor, and the career center to deliver pre-health, career, and extracurricular advising to Seaver College pre-health students and alumni. Collaborate on special events, outreach, and career education activities. Collaborate with academic departments, faculty, and campus partners on issues related to pre-health advising and education.
  • Serve as a principal writer for the university's Pre-Health letter process, in support of the Faculty Pre-Health Advisor.
  • Support all pre-health academic programs in developing pathways for student success. Advise relevant pre-health related student organizations.
  • Devise and deliver an effective communication strategy that informs pre-health students of relevant and current information on preparation practices and application procedures. Create and present educational workshops, both individually and in conjunction with campus partners.
  • Review and implement relevant technology tools to support and enhance the pre-health advising and management processes. Support integration of pre-health advising practices into the College's student success platform, Navigate. 
  • Contribute to the overall function of the Pre-Health Professions Program and Career Center. 
  • Create new and nurture current working relationships with health professional admission personnel and faculty.
  • Remain current and knowledgeable on health professional school admission processes and standards. Monitor changes in standardized test (e.g., MCAT) policies and/or procedures and their effects on pre-health applicants. Participate in regional and national associations.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Limited evening and weekend responsibilities.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: B.A. in a related field. Minimum 2 years of pre-health advising experience. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Proficient in MS Office, Google Suite.

Preferred: Proficient in PeopleSoft, Slate, Handshake.

This is a Regular, Exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Salary:  Commensurate with experience.
