The Assistant Director of Financial Assistance Compliance manages and monitors financial assistance compliance, mainly NCAA Bylaw 15 student athletic aid and federal compliance. This position supports the university mission by ensuring compliance with athletic, federal, state, and university aid and by meeting the goals and objectives of enrollment management.


  • Manage all aspects of financial aid awards for athletes & a portion of non-athletes, including verification, Satisfactory Academic Progress & R2T4.
  • Advise, award, and assist with all other Seaver student financial assistance. Review and regulate federal, state, and university policy ensuring compliance and accuracy. Presentations to key stakeholders, conduct internal and external reporting, training, and Update, review, and write procedures as needed for the FAO Policy & Procedures manual.
  • Stay current on NCAA, federal, and state financial aid regulations to strategically prepare and implement policy with regard to financial aid. Confirm that all NCAA rules, namely Bylaw 15 & federal regulations are followed in distributing aid to student-athletes. Ensure Enrollment Management goals and objectives are met with strict adherence to NCAA, federal, and state regulations.
  • Establish appropriate systems to track financial aid awarded to student-athletes from outside agencies, the university, and athletics. Maintain accurate records in PeopleSoft and NCAA Compliance Assistance (CAi) database. Review systems and recommend modifications to better serve students and meet regulatory compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field. Three years of related experience in university undergraduate financial aid and in federal/athletics compliance. Experience and strong working knowledge of federal, state, NCAA, and undergraduate financial aid. Skilled in oral and written communication, policy writing, compliance, planning, and multitasking. Proficient with spreadsheets, electronic mailers, and database management. Proficiency with Computer/PC, Microsoft Office, Calculator by touch, copier, and scanner.

Preferred: Master's degree. PeopleSoft experience in the Student Administration module and Compliance Assistance database.

This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position that may be eligible for remote or hybrid work in accordance with the University Policy Manual.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
