Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely execution of all brand, program, digital, event, promotion, and communication strategies by managing the intake of project requests, coordinating schedules, developing project management status reports, assisting in digital marketing activities, and managing the budget and coordination of finance activities and processing to support cross-functional marketing and communications activities.

A key marketing team member, the Marketing Specialist requires a general understanding of marketing and communications development and execution, as well as project and budget management experience. The role builds and maintains successful relationships across PGBS departments as well as the central university Integrated Marketing Communications organization in order to maintain timely information exchange of project information.

Duties

  • Manage project intake, opening, closing and tracking status through shared status reporting templates. Assist in managing and updating the marketing status report to ensure all projects are meeting timeline and budget expectations. Assists team in project management to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Partner with cross-functional team members to ensure timely development and execution of website design and content development, email marketing, and other support as needed.
  • Manage and track marketing department budget, financial reports, project and expense reports related to project execution, manage PO and invoice processing for agencies, production suppliers and advertising media.
  • Supplier management, including managing selection, ordering, fulfillment and inventory of school premium and promotional items, managing photo and video shoot scheduling and communications, coordinating outside supplier involvement in projects and events.
  • Complete administrative duties and other projects related to the execution of marketing programs, as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and 1-2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or related field. Administrative and budget management experience. Highly organized, ability to multi-task and work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Utmost attention to detail for budget tracking and project management. Familiarity with online finance management systems, and proficiency with standard Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Comfort with Google-based applications (Google Docs) and other digital resources designed to facilitate information sharing and collaboration.

Preferred: Experience working in an educational and/or marketing environment with project responsibility. Familiarity with project management and collaborative digital workspace platforms. Some experience using Adobe Creative Suite; Salesforce CRM, OU Campus, and email marketing applications.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
